Fall Armyworm - Spodoptera frugiperda - PRISE Field Data - Ghana

The PRISE collection of datasets, published on the CABI Data Repository, offer comprehensive in field measurements of common pests, their development and infestation dynamics in key subsistence crops across Sub-Saharan African countries during the period 2018 to 2022.

This dataset is focussed on key parameters crucial for understanding and managing Spodoptera frugiperda, the dataset includes detailed field data on adult trap numbers, damage severity levels, and immature stage numbers categorized by size.

The adult trap numbers provide insights into the population trends of Spodoptera frugiperda, aiding in the assessment of infestation intensity over the specified timeframe. Concurrently, the dataset captures the severity levels of damage inflicted by Spodoptera frugiperda on maize crops, enabling researchers and policymakers to evaluate the economic and agricultural impact of the pest. Immature stage numbers, stratified by size, contribute valuable information about the reproductive and developmental patterns of Spodoptera frugiperda within the tomato crop environment. This granularity enhances the dataset's utility for researchers investigating the life cycle and biology of Spodoptera frugiperda, potentially leading to more targeted pest management strategies.
