Identification of which AI are considered biopesticides and for which pests they are registered was based on the information in each countries’ list of registered pesticides. This information was not always available in the lists of registered pesticides, though it is likely that it would be available elsewhere, e.g. on product labels. As with the previous study, plant-incorporated-protectants such as genetically modified maize incorporating genes of Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner (Bt) and the use of classical biological control were excluded from the study.
